Home Depot: Husky 30 Gallon Air Compressor with 6 piece tool kit. $199

I have posted this on one other forum and remembered the favors that I recived from some of you here. I was at the orange borg and I did a double take on a 30 gallon upright air compressor with 5 tools. The original price was $299 amd the sales price is now $199. It comes with a 1/2-inch impact wrench, 3/8-inch ratchet wrench, air hammer with chisels, die grinder with stones, spray gun, heavy-duty tire inflator and 25-foot air hose and connectors. Check out this review here: (It is not my review)

Looks like they maybe discontinuing this model as it is not on Home Depot's website any more.

Tom Hintz reviewed the slightly smaller model of the same series (Quite Series) here and was quite favorable. He even demo'd it on video. Go Tom!

I just fired mine up for a quick test today. Looks like I am keeping this one. The quality of the tools that is included really added to the deal. I will probably never use the air chisel, but the paint sprayer and impact wrench look nicely built.

Just hope it does not need repairs b/c the repair parts, if you can even buy them will cost more than $100 for a pump rebuild. I called Husky on a similar compressor to check the prices on some seals and pistons, no parts are available pure toss A/C they said, NO repair parts, just replacement thru a service ctr. if under warranty, which is not what I want to deal with. I took that back the next day. I do not know specifics about this model, but I had a friend have one go out just after warranty so it was a total loss.
Airless AC's will wear out much faster than you think and the seals, pistons, connecting rods, unlike oil lubed which almost never need replacement due go out on the pump and an induction motor is the way to go on a large AC, just like a TS. This has a universal motor, again not as good. Just be aware of what you are buying.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

                Good points Andrew,

I am a weekend warrior that may use this tool 15-20 times per year, light duty. My good friend has a craftsman oiless going on 11 years now under - 12 years now under similiar circumstances. It does have a three year warranty, so I felt comfortable with this purchase.

The CM was most likely a DeVilbiss now PC,which has parts. I would still call and see if Husky has parts for this AC. That CM was made in the USA in Jackson, TN. The Husky I bought was made in China. The price is good. I know as far as the oiless designs the CM Pro/PC built twin "V" seems to hold up well. I think the conditions of operation such as dust/dirt since the bore is open ,is important.
My hotdog DeVilbiss ,like the PC pancake now sold, which is over 15 y.o. with light use is oiless, has parts still , made in USA with a GE universal motor.

My local HD tool manager told me this model was for a Christmas promotion and that they were now clearing out their Christmas inventory. He was out of them but another store nearby still had a few. I went and offered the TM $186 so I could pay the whole thing (including taxes) with my $200 gift card and he agreed.

My main reason for buying was so I could try my hand at spraying finishes. I figure a Wagner Power Painter would have cost me $100 so I essentually got the air tools for $86.

I haven't fired it up yet but at $2 a pound how can you go wrong.

I guess I can cross Air Compressor off my "Tool Addict's Top 100" list.

                      Husky AC

Picked one up here in VA.....So far so good. Great price.

Also got the Rigid 2 gallon for $99. Have some trim work and this is light weight enough to carry room to room.
