True, but the sale that brought the price down to $5.29 was only good through today.

They were priced at $7.99 here, hardly made it worthwhile to get it.

Herb, you are hard to please indeed. A 7.99 pack of energizer batteries for 2.99 is a great deal even if you missed the sale. I bought these last night. They were marked at 5.29 but some had dollar off coupons and were coming up with cvs owing us money so we had to buy chapsticks to bring it up to over zero. On top of that the cvs card was giving 5 dollars back for every 15 spend on energizer. It was embarressing.

Well, unfortunately my cvs didn't show the lower price, and shame on me, I didn't ask.

Don't Give Up Yet!

Print several coupons and take them to a store that will match competitor coupons. These batteries are sold everywhere ($5.59 reg price at Wal-Mart), and most of the larger stores will match competitor coupons -- HD, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Sears, etc.

I got to CVS just before closing time and the AAA packs had instant $1 off coupons on the packaging. They only had 2 left, and with 5 coupons I added 3 packs of AA and ended up with a 55 cent credit. Added some gum to solve that...
