    HF 3500W Generator $263

    From latest coupon book:

    http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/...o?itemid=96838

    1) Would you trust a back-up generator from HF?

    2) Can you use a 15% off in combo w/a discount coupon ($224)?

    Very tempting.

I have no experience with this generator, but would like to know which "coupon book" you are referring to. I can not find it in my latest book of coupons.

    Thanks,
    John

well theoretically even for a BU generator you need to fire it up weekly or monthly so it should not be a big surprise if you need it and it doesn't work.

AND you should put a load on it while it is running weekly or monthly. Simply running the engine is not good enough.

Don't know if they will take both coupons or not. The www.harborfreight.com web site shows a regular price of $299.99, so print that out and they will honor that price and the 15% coupon, which brings it down to $255- a little better than the other coupon.

The Harbor Freight store here will honor both coupons at one time. That is if one is a "sale price" coupon and the other is a "% off" coupon.

where would you get parts when the engine doesn't start or the generator doesn't generate? HF parts dept and customer service is less than useful.

also, they don't tell you any real specs on the machine.

I have the 94678 1000w to keep the lights on ( quiet and great fuel economy ) made by lifan. paid $135 for it and would buy another.

                  check out lifans web site..
