    Craftsman drill/impact set

In the craftsman club cataloge there is a 19.2v set. Has a drill driver and an impact driver. The product number 11550 shows up on the web as including 2 batteries and a charger. Regular price on the website says 139.99. Club members price is 99.99. Is this a good deal and are they good tools?
My Ryobi 12v is OK but it seems I have to charge the batteries a lot.

EDIT: I also noted that there is a $10 off coupon in the back of the catalog. Good for additional $10 off on sale items.
I tried to go through the order process online but even after entering my club card number it still shows up as $139.99!
If they are good tools it may be a good deal, if it is $89.99!

Why doesn't the word 'planing' show up in my computer spell check?

I don't have the catalog, but the $99 price is one that that combo seems to get down to occassionay. Once saw if for $79 or $89, can't remember which, so if the coupon applies it is about a good a price as you will probably get.

Same set was on sale last July, I bought one during this thread:

      http://www.bt3central.com/showthread...2+drill+impact

several posts about it. Worked OK for me so far, but I really haven't used it all that much.

When does it say the sale is on? I thought the November sale was already over?

How far did you go on checkout, did you have entered your Craftsman club card?

I have this set and for $89 or $99 it's a good bargain. Batteries last and the impact driver is a sweet tool.

I have it as well. Little heavy but otherwise like it a lot. I think the impact is way underrated.

This set is made by Ryobi. You can usually find better deals on the Ryobi ONE+ version of these tools, which other than the slight voltage difference are identical. The Ryobi batteries are also much cheaper to replace.

Just something to keep in mind if you plan on buying a bunch of tools for the system or are concerned about battery replacement cost down the road.

Duh....I guess I can't afford this tool cause I can't afford to pay attention!
The flier says sale dates are December 2-8!

My bad. Good to know that the tool is worthwhile.
It will either be this set or a new pair of redwing shoes....decisions, decisions.

                  Are the Ryobi batteries interchangable?

With other One+ tools, yes. With the Craftsman tools, no. Although the tools are virtually identical, they make the stem of the battery a little different so that you cannot interchange between brands.

I small bit of work with a Dremel tool will sometimes overcome the incompatability issue. Sometimes not

They had the drill on sale at our local Orchard Supply last weekend for $39.99. A four piece combo that included the drill, vacuum, light, and mouse sander. $69.99. Both were one day only sales.
