Yeah same here! I wish I never saw this post.. This pretty much ruined my whole weekend. I was so consume at getting in on the deal that I spent most of the weekend driving at multiple stores with no go on both Lowes and HD stores. It was a very unproductive weekend, I would have been better off finishing a project in the shop. Anybody in the Chicagoland that got in on this deal and has an extra one, I'd be willing to trade for it. I have a brand new Drill Doctor 500 that I am offering.

    Kind regards,

      Shadowfox,
I may be able to make a trade with you. I don't live in IL, but I'm driving that way on the 17th. I'll be in the Near N suburbs for a week. PM me and we'll see what we can come up with.

I actually got one! I went to Lowes for something else and figured... what the heck. I grab one, take it to counter. Cashier is friendly, says model numbers match. Calls manager, manager comes. She's a little apprehensive, but then says, "That's a heck of a price, I wonder why theirs is so low?". She overrides whatever she needed to, told the cashier to ring me up, and then tells her to take an additional 10% off. I'm not sure why, maybe a price match guarantee? It came to 53.97. Then she asks if she could keep my printout to show her boss in case he asks. "Sure..." I say. And out the door I walk.

I posted my receipt in case it helps anyone.

This is your receipt? What was it that you actually showed them to get this price?

I printed out a copy of the drill on the home depot ad while it was still up. That's what I showed them, and that's what she kept. I didn't have any receipt printouts.

Copy of the Home Depot add would have a chance. I tried your Lowe's receipt and my local Lowes required a price check with Home Depot. They will not match another Lowes price but they will a competitor.

Anyone have a copy (maybe in your cache) of the HD add?

I'll have to give this a try, I think I have a copy of the ad at home. If I do, I'll scan it for others.

I was able to get Lowes to price match the $59.97 after a bit of work. Took a supervisors approval and he was hesitant, but eventually gave me the price. They did keep my printed copy of HD's sales price.

Between this and the Sears drill press, I actually feel guilty about the deals I've gotten.

SCORE! Just got back from my neighborhood Lowe's, where the manager OK'd the price match... All it took was a copy of the above online offer, and some casual banter. This particular unit also came bundled with a very nice ballistic nylon holster for the gun. I also had a $10 off coupon, but I didn't want to push my luck, and I know I'll use it later...

Now I'm ready to twist off some screw heads!

Man you guys are killing it! How in the world are you getting Lowes to match when HD will not even match??!?!

Gonna have to send my wife back in there to sweet talk the old me.

                                Lowe's Price Match

I want to send out a thanks to everyone responsible for posting this. I just got back from Lowe's with my new Bosch.

As someone already posted all it took was a little banter with a busy store manager and he approved the match. The clerk at the register said "wow, that's a great deal" when she rang it up and saw the discount.

I tried again at a second store, for a gift to my son-in-law, but no luck at this store. He called the local Home Depot and said they wont even match it and their price is $199.

So, thanks again, a great score.

                                john
