    Unisaw on Austin Craigslist

Posted yesterday, found ad this this morning. At that price it may be gone by now. (Would be if I had room for it now!) There is a # posted so it's easy to check out.

at that price I'd be worried about a cracked left rear trunnion support or something like that. Look it over closely.

          I bought it!!

Well Pappy, I bought the saw. I'm ecstatic!!

Here's what I got: A Delta Unisaw model 34-802, 2 phase 220V, 3hp motor. (Which is fine with me as I have 220 in the garage.) I need to check the serial with Delta, but I'm guessing 15-25 years old, but in excellant condition. The picture showed surface rust on the table, but a little emery paper and steel wool cleaned it up. Not pits on the surface. It came with a Delta mobile base, a micro adjust fence, and about 15 commercial and custom made jigs. Some of which I may need to post pictures because I haven't quite figured out what they do. Based on the story, and I confirmed it was used by an avid hobbyist here in Austin. No production use. The lift and arbor was a little tight at first as it has been setting for a couple of years, but a little Tri-Flow and WD-40 freed everything and now they work smooth as silk. Motor is very strong with no hesitation or vibration. Trunion looks new.

Best of all I gave $275 cash! I think it's a good deal. Like I said, I'm ecstatic!

            Congrats.

Check that motor again. There is no 2 phase. Only 1 and 3. If it is single phase, it will run on standard household 220. If it is three phase, you'll likely have to get a phase converter.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

              My mistake

You're correct, single phase. Works on my standard 220 outlet. Just typing too fast.

Great Deal! Should be the last saw you'll ever need to buy.

                      Yes! Yes I do!

I had seen this add on CL but didn't do anything until I got your input. Thanks for all the advise.
