Thanks for the reply Mark - I can see where it would look that way from the pics...actually the grooves matched up perfectly...there is just a little slop (even though they were exactly 1/4) in the grooves. I was considering injecting some glue under the profile and get some pressure against the back of the panel....??

gary,
did you say that the pieces (stile and rail) did not align perfectly after they were cut using the two bits?
secondly, is the center notch (where the panel goes) wider than 1/4"? can you measure it with a caliper?
i am asking because i am want to order the set if top two questions are a non-issue.
thanks
Omar - it is exactly 1/4"...must be my technique - I did make 2 passes, and my setup now (until I get my BD CI table & Promax lift installed) lends itself to a little flex on the table...so maybe that was it. Anyways, no worries on the 1/4" groove of the bit profileLast edited by GaryA; 10-07-2007, 05:00 PM.GaryComment

Hey Bill - good point...it actually is not on ALL doors (and your right about HF bits...never again for me either)...again, I think it was my 2 pass and bad setupGary,
Did this occur on all the doors or just one? I started with a cabinet door set from HF (never, ever buy those) and I had the same problem. After measuring the bits I found that the part which cut the groove in the stile and rail was .265" well that sure as h*ll won't work on a .250" panel. If all your panels are loose I would look closely at the bit, might be an odd size.GaryComment

I think that's what I'd do at this point. If that creates a problem in the future you certainly aren't any worse off. Thanks for the reply Mark - I can see where it would look that way from the pics...actually the grooves matched up perfectly...there is just a little slop (even though they were exactly 1/4) in the grooves.
