INCREDIBLE DEAL!! JDS Air Filter $174 Free Shipping!

This just kills me as I had always had a preference for the JDS but the $309 price was a little on the high side so I settled on the JET on sale for $219 plus free shipping. The Jet is great too but I didn't get this great of a deal.

The JDS would occasionally go on sale, say for $249, but then there would be a $49 shipping fee. Then recently, $215 but with a $69 shipping fee.

I don't know how they're selling it now for $174 with free shipping but if you've ever wanted an air filter, you can't beat this deal.

Thanks much. This is the first Bargain Alert I've been able to get in on in a very long time. Great deal.

I had been thinking about the HF unit at $185-15%+sales tax. This deal takes the whole HF stigma out of the equation!

      Thanks for the tip!

        In for 1!!!

I had the delta unit from the deal a few weeks ago for $169 with a 'pay by check' designation until I finally made up my mind. This one was a no brainer....canceled the delta order.

        Thanks,
        Michael

the prefilter and filter are good deals in conjunction with this deal (considering you get 20% off tool accessories with this purchase).

              It's now unavailable...

mpauly, I didn't know about the "pay by check" option -- I'll have to look into that for next time. Thanks for the tip!

It is very, very easy to get burned on the pay by check option. Example those who used pay by check will likely not get this unit.

How effective would a unit like this be if my workshop is in the garage, and I work with the garage door open and the side door open to create a nice breeze?

I don't know for sure, but you might find it beneficial to leave it running for an hour or so after you leave the shop (and close the doors). I'm sure there's a lot of invisible dust floating around for at least an hour after you turn the machines off.

Definitely!! It seems to "stir up" and catch the fine stuff that coats everything over time.

                          Thanks Amazon (and Stormbringer!)

I was a bit bummed when Stormbringer first posted this deal. I had just bought one of these about a month ago as part of another deal that wasn't nearly as good. I decided to send Amazon an e-mail to see if they'd give me the lower price, since that's worked for others in the past.

I was amazed and surprised that a day later I got an e-mail back saying they would give me the discounted price! I hadn't expected it because it had been close to 30 days since my order and they were already sold out. Thanks Amazon for some great customer support and thanks Stormbringer for saving me a bunch of money when I already thought I'd gotten a good deal.

Now I have more money to spend on other tool bargains!

Having missed this deal (was was not sure could even afford that super discounted price ), how does this compare the couple of shop-made filters i have seen discussed here before?

If i were to try and build one myself, could i come out ahead in price? in performance? The layer of dust around the garage is really getting to me and I wanna do something about it.

The Amazon.com website says, "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." That sounds like this model air filter may have been discontinued.

I noticed that this same alert got posted to another forum, which is OK, but it reduces the chances of any of the members here getting in on the deal.
