BD openings are 8.25 x 11.75 (smaller than average). Jessem FX is 9.25 x 11.75. This is a good thing. You will simply need to take a straight edge guide and a straight bit to the top to open it up remembering to create a lip for the router lift to sit in.Comment

Thanks, Jeff. I was thinking it will have to be something like that, but I wasn't sure how advisable it was to do it (I have the template for the Jessem lift). Now I feel better.Comment

Phenolic is nasty stuff to route but it is just like routing really hard wood. Smells nasty almost burning smell.Comment

Uhm, I think I'm confused. I thought I should route the top itself (it's laminated MDF) to accommodate the Jessem lift? You think I should route the lift instead?Comment

Newbie Q: Does a router need a separate table or can it be added to a TS table?
It would save a lot of room if I can add a router to a TS I want to buy (see link): http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=32704What if there is no tomorrow?....there wasn't one today!

I guess I'll have to wait for the top to get here before I make some grand plans about the cabinet. I suppose the fasteners come with the top...? Will try to dig out manuals/documentation now.Comment
