Question: are the panel bits interchangable w/ other panel bits or does one have to buy the 3-piece set for every panel profile?
While looking into this, I was trying to find out the profile of the Makita set that was on sale at another time on HDT... anyway, that set happens to be on sale now at Acetoolsonline.com w/ free 7 day shipping.
Yes, the rail and stile bits are pretty standard and accept the 1/4" door panels.
The Makita set is ok. It is certainly not $149 bits by any means, however they are worth $40.

I have a raised panel set from Holbren from a couple years back (great set) - which is the same as the link above. The Makita link shown looks to have an ogee profile to me....what do you guys think? The description doesnt say.
The Makita set a appears to be an Ogee profile as you said. The edge of the panel would ride against the bearing so it an Ogee bit.
