Got one!! The manager and cashier weren't happy when they looked at the
price but still marked it down.

I've not opened box. By the way, is it 3-amp or 2 amp? HD seems to say it is 2 amp but Amazon spec
    says 3 amp.

ran into same problem with a mobile base purchase last month at hd. Salesmen said the item was discounted and when he checked the price it came out 0.1cents. The manager refussed to sell it to me . said he was going to throw it in the dumpster insteed. Real creeps at home depot latley. Lowes is better.

I was at another local HD store and this item is reduced to $39.66! Looks like
          HD is discontinuing this model?

Went to HD this evening with online printout. They first said they could only come down to $64 because online prices did not reflect shipping that was always added on. I pointed out the "not available online" which led them to say "this one time only". Attached is receipt if anyone needs it.

I was also able to pick this up today. Very helpful cashier looked at the web page print out and actually apologized that I would have to wait for a manager, since the $45 discount was more than she could authorize. No hassles though.

Bought it at Lowes with the price match. The manager had no problem price matching it. Great find!!
What if there is no tomorrow?....there wasn't one today!

This one was HARD for me
Went to the Lowes in Montgomeryville PA loaded my cart with things I needed about $100 worth of harware etc and the sander. Went to customer service to be rung up and the showed the cashier the print out. She balked and called a manager who was RUDE... He looked at the print out and called Home Depot for a price match WTF is that!!! He said "can't help you thats not thier price". I said fine and walked out with nothing... When to the depot down the street, got the same attitude from the cashier and manager. Had to raise my voice but he gave in. Not sure what is going on here but this was a tough deal. Hope it was worth it

I just went to Lowes with the picture printed out and acted like I do this all the time. The first manager I asked "so you still price match less 10% right " ???? He said "sure do talk to the manager on duty in lumber" as I had other boards I needed. That guy wasn't the sharpest tool around but he scatched his head and signed off without saying much as I told him the other manager already authorized it.

$92 dollars marked down to $39 less 10% out the door and my ten year old Dewalt ROS goes on CL tomorrow.

                    THANKS EVERYONE !!!!

I spent more on sandpaper already for this thing then I did on the sander.

I used it for probably a total of 4 hours this weekend. My first ROS, I was very impressed. There is remarkably little vibration transmitted to my hand...I'm used to a "Tool Shop" tiny finish sander that makes my hand numb is seconds. Dust control hooked to my shopvac also seemed very impressive. Couldn't even tell I was sanding in the garage, even after over an hours near continuous use.

Needless to say, I'm quite happy I got in on this deal.

Update - used the tool a bunch this weekend and it's a lot quieter and with less vibration than my 10 year old Dewalt ROS. The variable speed is only three settings but maybe someday I'll need to slow it down for something or another. Dust collection is a lot better ... not sure how to tie it into a system yet as it's an oval port for output.

If I paid full price I don't feel the upgrades mentioned would have been worth the price versus what I had but for what I paid they are nice features to have. I paid $36 out the door and sold my old one for $20 on CL so for a $16 upgrade and now having a new motor v. a 10 year old motor I'm happy.

                        THANKS AGAIN !!!

I have this DeWalt ROS and a Bosch ROS. Overall, they both do a great job and I have a hard time seeing any significant functional difference between the two. The Bosch may have a little less vibration and be a little easier to control.

There are two features that lift the Dewalt in my opinion. The case is larger than the Bosch's and it makes it easier to store extra sandpaper with the sander. The biggest plus for me, though is the builtin dust collection adapter. If you remove the bag from the dust collection chute (twist to unlock and pull off, there is a hose adapter built in. It will actually work with two different size hoses, I'm guessing 2 1/4" and 1", but I don't remember right now. With the Bosch you have to buy an adapter to convert the oval dust chute to a round hose hookup.

Man ... that's too easy, hooked up in a heartbeat!!! Why o why do most guys never want to read the book before using something ???? Deep questions of the universe ......

That makes it an ever better bargain than before so my rating goes up ....

Thanks For A Third Time Everyone !!!!

For the southeast PA folks....tried at the HD in King of Prussia (no as amp listing was different and their cost was 73 bucks) and no go at Frazer store...amp difference as well. Took others advice and went to Lowes with a compare sheet and with biting my tongue and a little luck, sale went through. Thanks everyone!

I tried for this deal here in Bloomington: no go! Took the printout to Lowes, went to the "lack of Customer Service" desk and went to work. After 4 people looked at it, they called the closest BORG (about an hour away), checked the price there ($84), and offered to match that plus the 10%. Said no thanks. I believe it was the 2 amp vs. 3 amp that queered the deal. They were really trying hard to find a reason not to match. One of the CS dinks even made a comment about DeWalt labeling items different so they couldn't price-match! What a load of ...........! If the deal is still alive, I may try my luck at the BORG if I make it up to Indy this weekend. Ironically, my Ryobi VS ROS died a little over a month ago (after 4 years of what could best be described as abuse!) and after a lot of research, I went all the way to the BORG to buy a RIDGID. Lifetime warranty for $70. I'm happy with it. But I'd be happier with an extra ROS!
