Ok, had to pull the trigger!

Darn! Got so excited I forgot to add the free Freud blade! Got to get that corrected!

Wife caught me placing the order. "Why are you buying another saw? Is there something wrong with the 600lb saw they delivered the other day?"

Anyone want to buy a tricked out 22124 with router table and lift?

EDIT: WHY IS SHIPPING WEIGHT 404 LBS? THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT.

DOUBLE EDIT : LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL BE A ROUTER UPGRADE IN MY FUTURE AS WELL. BASED UPON PHOTOS OF JET 708124 XLIFT IT SHOWS PC7518 ROUTER MOUNTED. ANYONE HAVE ANY COMPATIBILITY INFO ON THIS LIFT?

TRIPLE EDIT: FENCE, RAILS, SAW, TABLE LEGS, TABLE AND ROUTER LIFT ALL SHIP SEPERATE! I BET THAT ANSWERS MY 404LB QUESTION.

QUAD EDIT : APPEARS THIS LIFT WILL ACCEPT ABOUT DARN NEAR ANYTHING! CONFIRM DW 621 AND BOSCH 1617 AND PC 7518.

    NICE REVIEW OF SIMILAR PACKAGE . .. . .

I FORGOT ABOUT JET CHECKING ARBOR RUN OUT, ETC AND PUTTING SPECS WITH MACHINE. THAT IS COOL.

SUPER CRAZY 5TH EDIT : I WONDER IF THEY ARE CLOSING THESE OUT FOR THE NEW JET WITH RIVING KNIFE? MAN THIS IS SUCH A STEAL. LOOKING AT JETS FLYER THEY SAW WITHOUT THE LIFT IS ON SALE FOR $1599!

Pretty much. I would do it, but that tells you nothing!

Is your shop a garage with a garage door? If yes, then you can install the TS near the door and open the door for longer cuts. Of course that applies to either 30" or 50" and really doesn't have anything to do with your question. See? I told you I was crazy.

In my opinion ... nothing either way that's a deal breaker. There are minor ergonomic and operational differences, but the left-tilter's main drawing card is that the fence can be kept on the usual (i.e., right) side of the blade when making a bevel cut in the safest way, with the top of the blade tilted away from the fence. This is considered safer because the workpiece is not trapped under the blade, as would be the situation if the blade's top tilted toward the fence. But if hold-downs are used, the point becomes mostly moot.

I just bought a cabinet saw, and it happens to be a left-tilt, and that's fine; but I'd have bought the same saw even if it was a right-tilt. Left-tilts are all the rage right now but I think it's more a marketing thing than a truly significant advantage.

EDIT: My saw is this same size, and it is in one bay of a two-car garage that has a row of pipe columns down the middle, so I have essentially the same situation as you (actual width is about 10'-6"). See my "Sow's Ear Update" thread for pix.

Now that is just dangerous! I always liked back ordered bargains on Amazon because it gave me a chance to lock in the price and think about it later, but having a guaranteed 30 day window is great! All bargains can be order now and think later. Thanks David!

If you're ordering a saw and a blade, you can use the 2OOFFMAY code to save $12 more. It works even though the blade is already free.

    David,
I called back and tried to cancel the first order.
The woman was nice and tried to call the warehouse but it was too late.
Anyhow she guaranteed me that if I refuse shipment that I will be credited for the whole purchase...
I am not worried as I paid with Amex and if they try to bill me I will dipute the charges...

OK, I'm going to ask an amatuer question - why left tilt or right tilt...any disadvantage to right tilt? I'm a BT3100 owner and seriously considering pulling the trigger on the $1076 50" deal (after I do some measureing and serious selling to upper management tonight that is). Is that router lift decent? Thanks guys...

I (and many others) got 20% off Dewalt routers and a PC/Dovetail combo which in my opinion they really didn't have to give.

Woodwerker, I too followed Larry's advice and bought the 50"er. I checked the 30"er and it was still unshipped and cancellable. So I went ahead and first purchased the 50"er and then went to cancel the 30"er. I swear they are monitoring for stuff like this because OF COURSE the 30"er right that second went into "Preparing for Shipping" and could not be cancelled. I immediately called Amazon and they told me the same story as they told Woodwerker.

BUT I asked to speak to a supervisor. The Supervisor gave me the same song but I insisted, pointed out they were going to get additional $400 that it had just gone into Preparing mode and she said she could send an email to the warehouse to see if they can cancel. She told me it was not due to leave the warehouse until 5/21 so it should be OK. In the meantime I got rid of the 50"er and then re-added it again! Luckily the price didn't change out from under me.

    >>> Now, here is something interesting that I didn't know: If you choose to pay by check then they will hold the item for 30 days until you check arrives and clears before it is shipped! So YOU CAN LOCK-IN A PURCHASE w/o fear of it shipping before you decide you REALLY want it. You can change the method of payment back to credit card at any time.

FYI I did inquire if I could somehow pass on the 30"er to a friend at same price, etc but they said it could not be done. Otherwise I would have made that available to anyone on here that wanted it.

In summary: Woodwerker I recommend you really push them... I doubt yours is really "shipped" yet if mine was 6 days out (ordered yesterday). Get the 50"er right now and use check as payment method. They said it can be cancelled during the 30 day period. You can now say that your friend just did the same thing!

So, I am waiting to see if they cancel it and have either one locked in I guess.

(Btw, when I ordered it said they had like 2-3 left in stock, so don't anyone delay if you want it.)

Werker, I've only tested amazon.com's CS dept a couple times, on small items, but both times they were first rate, resolved the problem fully. FWIW.

Usually the fine print says you have to eat the shipping on a returned item unless it's their mistake. I find what they told you in this case a bit surprising, given the weight of a cabinet saw. Also FWIW.

Not a bad deal, you say? Boy no kidding. This is a right-tilt saw; the left-tilt version of the exact same saw, but without the router lift, is still showing the regular price of $1500. The left-tilt version WITH the router lift is $1908 (also the regular price, IIRC).

Anyone who ordered the 30" model and has room for the 50" ought to think seriously about canceling the order and jumping on this $1076 deal instead.

Ok so how good is Amazon's customer service?
I ordered the Base model yesterday, then this morning saw that $1076 deal and changed my mind and wanted that saw, I have the room and the 50" upgrade alone is $300. So I called Amazon and they told me that my first order shipped and I could refuse the order and they would refund the full price including the shipping???????
    What do you guys think?
Will they honor this or am I stuck for the shipping?
BTW I did order the $1076 saw, so now I own 3 jet table saws

Seems like a lot of BT3ers bought this saw today.
    Price: $1,399.99 now.

This deal has been available off and on for 2 weeks.

Today it gets a lot of attention and deal is dead. Funny how that goes.
