as well. They come in a hard plastic foam lined case with 2 batteries (1)
installed and a spare one. Wt Tools has locations in several states and a website, www.wttools.com for more info. The guy here at local store said

I learned my lesson on those electronic display calipers. They don't last. One day they quit never to work again. Enco has a 6" inch long, inch/metric dial caliper on sale for $24.95.

Plus there is one thing Enco does not give you. Pop-up ads!

I've had my Harbor Freight digital for over a year, use it pretty regularly, and it hasn't quite yet.

No pop-ups from harborfreight, either. At $16 for stainless steel digital calipers, they're a throw away without regret if they break. I guess that's why I have two of them (and an older plastic set from somewhere else) around the house and shop... And they all still work - some of them over 10 years old.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I forgot to mention that jlindustrial.com has 6" Fowler digital electronic calipers on sale for $26.95.

J&L also has a stainless steel 6" dial caliper for $12.95.

I've checked my cheapie calipers against $160 Mitutoyos and Fowlers and
can't tell any difference in readings. Identical.
the technology is based upon the etching of repeating photopatterns on long skinny electronic circuit boards. A very accurate and very inexpensive technology.

Harbor Freight will have a 6" version on sale for $5.99 at the start of next month. One of their Parking Lot Sales. Only lasts 3 days (3/2 - 3/4) Now that's a throw away price.

that may be the plastic version. I like the stainless ones so much better, I'd recommend paying the extra.
