Drawer slide on clearance @ Lowes store

I was checking the hardware at local lowes store and found their heavy duty Euro Style drawer slide (Model 1284) on clearance, regular price about $5~$7, on clearance for $1.25~$1.70 each pair (16" ~ 24"). I picked a bunch, some for my current drawer project and some stock up. Check your local store, I am not sure if it is nation wide or just regional. But for 1/4 of the regular price, it's time to stock up for future projects.

They only had 5 sets left at my Lowes here in Charleston but more than worth the trip.

I found these on sale this weekend too. Their nicest variety, and now the cheapest. Smooth and 100+lb capacity.

I built a shelf above my TV in our entertainment armoir. It holds my center and two front speakers. Pull it out , then pull a second set of slides, one on each side, to get reach on the Rt/Lt mains.

All are bookshelf speakers, but nice Totems. It lets me have a semblance of a nice "home theater" while being able to hide it in a reasonably sized armoir with the 42" plasma. This way I get to stay married.

Now I just need to convince her that the downfiring subwoofer can be a little table with a kamp or some other girly crap on it. . .

The Lowes in Danvers, MA had quite a few available in different lengths. I picked up a bunch. You certainly can't beat the price.

Thanks for the tip. I stopped yesterday and got 4 each of 16" and 18". I wanted 22", but they were out. 8 slides for $11 is a great deal. Now I just need to find a use for them.

What in the world is the rationale for this kind of stuff. Lowes and Home Depot both do it. They put some riduclously low price on a staple item that they will obviously continue carrying.

I put a sprinkler system in my yard a few years ago. The sprinkler control wire normally sells for $20 for a 100' roll. They dropped the price to $1.99 for a couple of weeks, fortunatly right at the time I needed it, saving me over $150.

You guessed it, they still sell the exact same wire, same brand, etc., but the price is back up to $20. I'll wager that the exact same thing will happen with the drawer slides. They will continue to carry the exact same brand as before.

I can see putting a really low price on some item you want to get rid of, but to blow out items you fully plan to contine carrying just doesn't make any sense.

(Not that I mind that they do it! )

well, i am happy they put this out just now : i was planning to replace all my kitchen shelfs with rollouts, and this saved me a substantial bundle. i was thinking fully-extended, but at this low price, these euro (3/4th extended) ones have no match

Picked up a few at the Simi Valley, CA store
I took the last few 24". There was still a bunch of the 16" and 3 unopened BOXES of the 22" (well, only 2 unopened after I got mine!)

                            Good luck!

                              Thanks,

Bought 14 of them, various sizes. The sacks were damm heavy, had to carry them like a football.
