I put a sprinkler system in my yard a few years ago. The sprinkler control wire normally sells for $20 for a 100' roll. They dropped the price to $1.99 for a couple of weeks, fortunatly right at the time I needed it, saving me over $150.

You guessed it, they still sell the exact same wire, same brand, etc., but the price is back up to $20. I'll wager that the exact same thing will happen with the drawer slides. They will continue to carry the exact same brand as before.

I can see putting a really low price on some item you want to get rid of, but to blow out items you fully plan to contine carrying just doesn't make any sense.

(Not that I mind that they do it! )

Got some too... only had 16" but I got 12
JG to answer your question, there could be many reasons for the inventory dump, things such as a minor change in the safty instructions in the manual to conform to a new law. Or a change in packaging. How they arrive at a price beats me. But I'm sure its related to cost of the item, vs. the amount that the supplier will eat...

I wasn't planning on using slides but I guess I will have to check to see if they have em on clearance here. If they do I might have to redesign my project a little bit.

If the almond K&V aren't stickered at the prices I quoted I would be very surprised. Evidence supports the notion that this is a nationwide clearance.

I forgot to mention that the socket for using with these drawer slide is also on clearance @ 44 cents each (regular $1.76). I picked a dozen for my projects which save me some effort for building the support.

Here is what I was talking about. You use this to mount the slides rear end to the cabinet back instead of side, which in most cases you will need a spacer. You can find more info here. I just finished using these sockets to mount 4 drawers, it is easy to adjust, and seems pretty strong, I don't know if it will support 100 lb like the 1284 drawer slide promised, but should be good enough. It is 44 cents a pair.

I think he means the bracket that lets you easily use the slides for face frame construction without the need for a spacer block.

Hmmm...so i'd need to use two of these, one at the back and another at the front to hold the cabinet slide up? And it can only work with with-face-frame cabinets, right (as BigguyZ has indicated)?

Yes, it only works for cabinets with face frame, but you do not need it at the front, it is only used at the back. The drawer slide front is directly mounted on the face frame.

I stop by the local Lowes nearly everyday waiting for them to mark down stuff. It seems like they lag behind most as far as when they do the markdowns. And most of the time they don't take as much off as other stores. Finnally saw these today. Got 6@16", 3@18, and 3@20. Not the lengths I would have wanted but the price couldn't be beat. Less than $10.00 out the door. Thanks OP! WDO

I seems to figure out that if the item is on clearance nation wide, when you scan the item, the price should be what was marked. If it is only a local store clearance, then the scanned price will still be the original price and will need the cashier's manual ajustment. Let me know if I am wrong.
