    Kreg Screws

Just got notified by my "Amazon Cart notifier" that the Kreg screws I had in my cart have been marked down considerably

    Examples:

    1000ct Washer Head Hi-LO $25 to $16
    500ct Washer head Hi-Lo $17 to $9
    1000 Pan Head Fine $24 to $16
    500 Pan Head fine $16 to $9.59

These were just 1 1/4" sizes. I haven't checked the rest of the sizes and combinations for markdowns just yet.

If you find any other Kreg screw deals, please post them here too.

Seems like a good price. Kreg sells their screws for about $24/1000. 1 1/4" is what you need for 3/4" stock.

    edit to add:

Looking at the screws on Amazon, they're not the typical pocket hole, 1 1/4" coarse thread I'm used to using. What are these Hi-Lo screws used for?

      Course thread is for softwood.
      Fine thread is for hardwood.
Hi-Lo thread works great in manmade material like particle, MDO, MDF.
Generally speaking you want washer head, not pan head. Washer head has more surface area causing less likely hood of crushing the pocket.

For the past two years I have had excellent luck using the hi-lo for both hard & soft woods - I'm in for 2000 so I get free shipping.

Just got this regarding what's probably considered the most popular size and style:

Please note that the price of Kreg 1000 CT 1 1/4" Coarse Washer-Head Pocket Screws has decreased from $35.11 to $24.99 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.

            .
that link is for the "weather resistant" screws, The (non-WR) screws in 1000 qty are probably about $25 regular price.
            Loring in Katy, TX USA

These would work great for some outdoor desks or kitchen cabinets

Good catch. I wish the "regular ones" would take a price dump soon.

I use mostly fine thread (ie hardwood style) Kreg screws. A lot of the 1000cts are on sale right now at Amazon, EXCEPT the most common 1 1/4" Coarse and Fine (for 3/4" material).
