Rod, I was going to replace my RE600 because I figure it is going to fail soon. I was trying to buy the Milwaulkee but HDT sale is off now.
What do you think about this Triton for table use, and can I avoid a lift?
        I have a DW621 for hand use.

That's where it really excels (in a table). Built in lift. Search for RayInTheUk's video link on this model. It'll answer most of your questions.

Review here, Andrew. Any other questions, fire away!

I don't know which Milwaukee router you refer to, but in the latest Fine Woodworking magazine (edition 189), the smaller Triton (MOF001) beat the Milwaukee 5625-20 hands down (it also beat the Bosch 1617EVS, the Craftsman 1617-12, the Freud FT1700VCEK, the Porter-Cable 891 and the Ridgid R2930). That was the 2.25HP model. The one in this post is 3.25HP.

              Ray.

Ray , I am sorry I was not clear, I was looking at the Milwaukee 5625. Is this a good price?
I am pleased w. my DW621 for hand use.

This router cannot be beaten for use in a table. Power plus features = satisfaction. The price looks good to me, but I don't have the overall knowledge of the North American marketplace that you do.

If you will use the 3.25HP, then this is the beast. The above-the-table bit-changing is worth it on its own.

                  Ray.

Sounds like a bargain to me, just wish I had the spare dosh.

I've been looking at a lot of the triton stuff and the Oz forums. Seems like since triton was bought out by gmc people arent so happy with the products but I still like them.

Well at $209, with those features it certainly seems to be the top competitor in the North American marketplace.
Ray, do you have any of your reviews or any other resources that give a detailed review of the lift component of this router? I know folks say it great, but I am curious as to how the fine adjustment for bit height works with this system. I am also interested in the total travel of the collet ie how far does the collet go in relation to the base? Does it travel down level to the base or when fully plunged in router table set up, does the collet pass the base? I am interested if this router will meet my needs of cutting stiles with a sled that has a 1/4" base. Can it get the bit up high enough?
Does any of this make sense?

Edit : Oh ya, remember Amazon price match 110% on this item.

                              I am confused.

                              What is a Canadian Tool?

I thought this seller is based in FL?
