This might actually be a good find for BT. It is a 6" dado. Reviews at amazon are not that good but all the negative side will most likely not apply for our crowd. They all complain about tight tolerance for arbor mounting. I cannot see that being a big deal.

            Makita dado set

I got the Makita set a few minutes ago and the final cost was:

            Items: $34.06
            Shipping & Handling: $9.99
            Super Saver Discount: -$9.99
            Promotion Applied: -$3.41
            Total Before Tax: $30.65
            Estimated Tax: $0.00
            Order Total: $30.65

Not sure what the $3.41 was for, but I'll take it. :-)

The Makita set seems not carbide tipped from the picture, while the delta set is. IMHO, I would think the delta set might be a better deal. Just my 2 cents.

I also noticed this. "Maximum safe rpm: 4800"
                Isn't the BT3K 5000?

                  This review gave me pause:

Can't find any other reviews online (than 2 at Amazon). Has anyone tried this set?
                  Never met a bargain I didn't like.

The description on the makita says it is "For U-shaped cuts". Doesn't sound too good to me

everyone always seems to be trying to find alternatives (sometimes costing more!) to the freud SD206 but there never seem to be good ones.
The Freud costs about $75 and sometimes less on sale but its a great dado and is a good buy for the money - cuts clean square bottom grooves and the chippers all add up like they're supposed to. You can buy cheaper but watch out for problems (insufficient speed-RPM rating, not flat bottom, chippers don't stack up correctly dimension-wise, cut's rough, other problems, etc.)
                      Loring in Katy, TX USA
If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
