Total of ~$450 for a zipcode hybrid with a Bieseclone, or ~$550 for the real McCoy!

    Dust,

When I throw the 22104 in my cart, it shows up at an unbelievably low price of $300. This saw was orignally $530 marked down to $429 on "clearance" and now 30% off on top of that = $300 price thats showing up in my cart. So, even though I currently have absolutely nowhere to put this sucker, for this price I think I'll bite.

    Two Questions:

    1. Can somebody tell me the front of table to blade distance/ Is it the same on all zip models?

    2. Does the $14.99 Herc-U-Lift fit this saw?

    Thanks,
    Greg

I am really itching to buy that bandsaw... My wife was laughing at me and reminded me that I once told her that I would never own a craftsman tool. If I buy this bandsaw I would have enough to go ahead and get me a floor drill press.

Yeah, it showed up for that in my basket too...that's the 30% off I've been reading about, but you have to pay shipping too...I don't think most retail stores will honor that price, but stranger things have happened.

        1. The front of table to blade distance is ~ 13", and it's the same for all models.

        2. I've read of others adding a Herc lift, but I don't know what's involved....if you're mechanical, you'll figure a way.

I went through the process all the way to checkout, just for fun. I noticed that there is an In-Store Pickup option. When I clicked this, the shipping charges vanish. I'd guess that will help streamline the process with the local store manager.

Thanks for your response with my questions. You can "Buy online and pick up in store" with this item, thus no shipping and no manager necessary for price negotiations.

            Thanks,
            Greg

After sleeping on it. I just went ahead and bought the Craftsman 22401 BS. Springhill store did not have any in stock so it is scheduled for free home delivery on Friday .

I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Never spent over $50.00 on a craftsman branded power tool before.

It looks like I can use the old HTC 2000 mobile base I was using for my table saw for this bandsaw.

Except that the Craftsman has the cast iron table, a fence and a light, and one or two other niceties.

                      DM,

Did you have anything else in your cart to get that price? When I add it to my cart alone it shows up for $242 (down from the $262 sale price).

When I add another big ticket item the price drops to the $189. What gives? Do you have to break through the $300 level to qualify for a higher discount?

                      Thanks,
                      Greg

Ya DM, how did you get that deal? Even LOML might not be able to pass up that kind of deal--at least to stop hearing me crying about not having a band saw. I had been considering the 10", but if I can get the 12" for under $200, I may jump on it.

Yeah, I added the Bosch/Craftsman router kit to bring it down to $189....it also brought the router to $140 plus tax....don't need it, so I'll probably just sell it for my cost ($155)

I was so proud of myself for not pulling the trigger. But then I got to thinking what I could get for my current saw, plus a little b'day cash . . . went in today and I believe the BS deal ended yesterday.

Ya, I resisted, too and I am glad I did. I would really like to have a BS, and would use it probably as much as my TS, but I am just not WW'ing that much now--baby #3 comes a week from tomorrow. I'll probably sit back and wait for another deal, or check out yard sales and auctions. The hunt is always more fun than actually buying one

Of course, I checked earlier, and you can still get the 12" for $242 through tomorrow

I almost bought the 22104 - yes, not as nice as the 22124 and all, but for about half the price, I almost jumped on it... I added it to the cart, and it's currently 20% + 20%, so ~$340, so not as nice as $300, but still... then I noticed - $215 to ship "oversized" (vs $60 for the 22114 or the 22124 - maybe it's in one box while the other two are in two boxes each?). So I select pickup, which I was planning on from the beginning...

ARGH! It's not available anywhere locally... oh well... at least I don't risk getting in trouble with LOML, right?
