That's a really nice set plus if you have a 10% off coupon, that would end up being a great deal.

Yep, & my will power was not aided by the 10% off coupon they gave me at checkout when I bought a $2 hose coupling last night. Coupon's good 7/27-7/30.

According to the cashier, the clearance will last till everything's gone, so I'll keep checking in. If it goes any lower, my DW-4 combo may be going on Ebay.

My rationale for buying the DW tools in the first place was I wanted something to last a lifetime. After 2 years and the drill (the only really useful tool besides the light), had to be rebuilt (and sorry I spent the $$ on it). The recip saw is cool for taking down fences, a common task here in N. TX.

I'm in the market for a new cordless drill. Can anyone tell me what the model number for the HD kit is?

            Bill,

I believe it is the same as this kit on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=228013

Not too often you see an item on Amazon with a 5-star rating after 35 reviews.

This is a nice kit , particularly the impact driver. Now if they would only put this out in the new LXT stuff for the same price point

You're welcome, New. Talked LOML into an early bday present and scored one as well. When I told her I had HD had a clearance sale and I had 10% off this weekend, a trip was mandatory. Of course I had to act surprised when I found the kit, and buy a patio firebowl for her...

UPC # on my receipt is 088381065962.

All my other cordless tools are likely going on Ebay. I hated spending the $$ (so how'd I get into WW??). But the way I figure it, my DeWalt 18v tools are going to need new batteries soon, and this wasn't much more than the cost of 2 new DW 18v NiCads, not to mention the 12s my little ID eats for lunch.

Wow. I was gonna grab one of these and sell the impact driver (already have that one) so I'd have 3 tools and 4 batteries. Bummer tho, cause none of the dozen or so HDs in my area (NW Chicago burbs) have it in stock. Good find, I'm just too slow.

You still might be able to get this kit, at a better price.
                      HDT sold a bunch yesterday.

Well, if anyone's in the D/FW area, the White Settlement store (White Settlement Rd. & Loop 820) still has 3 at that price. I'm amazed, they had 4 when I first saw em almost 2 weeks ago, so mine is the only one they've sold.

Also the Lake Worth store was closing out the same combo in 12v for like $159.

This weekend in the DWF area, I looked through the Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, and another store south of Grand Prarie. The odd thing is that all the stores showed 3-4 in-stock on the computer but none could find them.

The service manager at the Irving store tried to help me and called around the other HDs and there was even one store that showed 6 on inventory but none could be found.

Needless to say, I was really disappointed and gave up. It was also a nightmare because I called two of the HDs and asked them to check to be sure the item was actually there before I made the drive. They assured me they were available and when I got there, no-one could find them (aarghgh).

I was really happy because I lucked out on the clearance deal at HDT for $170.

My local HD's has 'em for $137. Not that I need 'em but I am so so tempted it hurts. I think there's only one way to ease the pain.....

And you haven't bought one? That's about what two 14.4 or 18v batteries cost for the high-end cordless tools.

I guess it's a regional thing, our local big boxes almost never clearance stuff as cheap as other areas.

I excpect there's going to be some deals to be had on older cordless technology as lithium ion catches on.
