TPI is a plastic distributor and fabricator. One of their locations is near my home and I was driving by when I saw they had a garage sale sign. I stopped and they were selling the left over stock for very low prices. I would post some examples on the HDPE and acrylic that I purchased but don't want to violate the no-gloat rule.

Morale of the story is that they said they were the first location to try this and that they may do this at their other locations. If you live near by one it might be worth a phone call to see if they will have a sale. The store that had the sale was in Grand Rapids MI.

I think you can gloat in the coffee pot area or even the tool section if you can stand the heat and suction.

I would like to see what you got and for how much. If not, it's hard to tell if it's even a bargin. Yes, there is a fine line between informing people what is available and for how much, and gloatting.

If you are close by I would check out the store. The prices varied depending on when and who you purchased from. It was like a garage sale with no prices marked. My main purchase is a 50" x 100" x 1/2" sheet of red HDPE. They call it red - yellow - red since it is red on the outside and has a yellow core. I got the sheet for $25. I think it is used in sign making. I plan on using a large strip as a outdoor counter top.

The other purchases were HDPE with a StarBrite name. I think it is used on boats and has strong UV protection.

I think each store serves a different market and would have different material.

Posting "gloats" is OK on "tools" or "Coffee Pot". As to posting a picture, that is fine. The Original post in this thread did mention it as something that might be available in other areas if the "garage sale" works great. To me, that is not a gloat but a heads up on possible future bargains.

Pen turners might be very interested in the plastics too. Please post a picture of what you got.

There is a difference in posting what one found for self versus what others might be able to get also.

Succinct criteria for determining a gloat vs bargain:

Gloat = one person bargain only, (Note - spelling changed to prevent offence - see Jim's note below as to the real post)
Bargains = available for others (or "possibly" available to others). Also, a "heads up" type of notice.

If I am wrong on this interpretation, I will take responsibility for it, take my lashings too, and apologize.

I had it right the first time! But changed it cause some might take offence!

Only and Old Goat would keep the bargains to himself and galllooat about it!
