    GMC ADB10SMS 10" Slide CMS/REDEYE @amazon

    Folks,

Anyone have a good experience with this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=228013

With 10% off and free s/h, looks like a value deal: $225 for many good features...

    Thanks,
    /venkat

Is it just the picture or is the table really that small? Maybe that arm at the front helps stabilize the workpiece but it looks to me like even medium width stock could be tippy on this saw. Hopefuly someone has this SCMS and can shed more light on that.

i had one of these for about a year and i never could get a straight cut out of it. also- the laser wasn't bright enough to see under normal lighting conditions and it wasn't near the cut line. i emailed gmc once but they never answered. just my experience with one particular saw- maybe all the rest are better?

GMC is not known as a top tier producer but as a low cost producer for the masses.

I've seen nothing but poor reviews on GMC miter saws. I would stay away from it and spend a little more to buy something with a better reputation.

There's a review of the GMC LSMS250 here if that's of any interest:

Look a little further. They have the GMC 12" dual bevel slider at $199.00. There also a review some guys might find useful.

Do you really need a 10 inch SCMS? How about a 12 inch CMS instead that has a nice tall fence? You can get the Bosch model 3912 12 inch CMS for just a little more which is known to be a quality product that comes with a decent 40 tooth blade. You will almost certainly want to replace the blade on the GMC which will make it more total cost than the Bosch. -- Steve
