      Forstner 7-bit set $22

Forstners: I guess I'd want at least "high speed steel"; these are "high carbon steel". Then, again, for $10....

Jig-It Kit: I know I could get my $10-worth out of there! I usually get all the hardware I need in their T-track sets when they're 50% off.

          Regards,
          Tom

            david, thanks for the links.
The prices are good, if you need them or plan to need them.
Esp. if you can get them all in one stop and save by combining shipping.

That router vac, have no idea if it'll work - I think it depends a lot upon the setup.
Forstner bits are great if you don't have any, and have a Drill press, get some. If you don't have DP, get the bits anyway and buy a DP.
Jig it, kind of expensive at list, OK on sale.
if you buy the rockler t-track kit it comes with a bunch of these parts.

Thanks guys, Loring you outdid yourself... 3 posts on one question! You are a star!

I have a store local to me, very convenient. I will probably go and pick some of the stuff up... I've since decided to make a benchtop router table so I'll put some of it to use right away.

I am (later) going to build a cabinet table, but there I'll probably make most of the stuff or get higher quality items.

              Thanks again.

Well, since my last post, I've been to Rockler and back. I guess I foreshadowed myself in my earlier post -- I saw the t-track kits were 50% and picked up another one.

I also picked up a mortising chisel sharpener for ~$13:

It's actually got two sharpening cones -- 220 grit and 600 grit. Regularly $20.

                Oh, and some 4" DC hose (50% off), and . . .

                Regards,
                Tom

Say, I was wondering about how great a deal the DC tubing is 4" x 10' for $11? Does this pricing come around periodically?

That's the best that I've seen from them. It's on probably 2-3 times a year. Good price on great hose though. I used to have the black stuff, replaced all of it with the clear stuff last time they had that price. Nice and flexable, wire reenforced, much better hose. The black stuff is just crap in my opinion at this point.

Also, that 4" DC hose is known (by me) to fit snugly over the end of 4" S&D piping. I usually remove a few turns of the reinforcing wire, first, and then use a hose clamp.

And, yes, if you're in the market at all, now's the time to snatch it up.

                      Regards,
                      Tom

According to my receipt, the Kreg screws are included in the 50% off all screws. In hindsight, I think you're supposed to use a coupon for this, but the guy must have cut me some slack. Also in hindsight, I should have bought more!

Anyone who caught my Kreg post from a few days ago: I am now completely conversant in lengths and thread pitch!

                        Regards,
                        Tom

"What they take are the 1/4" T-bolts which have 1/4" threaded portion but the thin, flat oval shaped heads. Works absolutly fine but just requires a special bolt at $1 apiece from Rockler that I have to make a special trip to get rather than a $.15 bolt from Lowes (which I've already stocked)."

Loring, the bolts from Rockler are 5/16" "T" bolts/knobs. You can grind carriage bolts on their heads, to fit if you want .

Went to Rockler in Schaumburg, Illinois today to use the coupons I got from their sales flyer. While I was there I saw a kreg 2000 system for $90.00 plus with a red dot tag and a drill doctor 500 system for 94.99 which is also has a red dot tag, the original price for the drill doctor 500 was $124.99.. The sales flyer had a 50% off coupon on items with red dot tags. $94.99 is already a good price and with the 50% off coupon I was able to get it for $48.00 plus tax. Not bad, I've always wanted to get one of these drill doctor systems. Also bought 5 packs of 1000 kreg pocket screws (different sizes) because the sales flyer also had the 50% off all screws so i was able to get 5 packs of 1000 for the price of two. Also bought a grip tite system and used the 20% off coupon for it.. Overall the final price for everything was almost the same as the regular price of the drill doctor 500 system.

This is the Drill Doctor 500X that I got from Rockler for $48.00.. I think this is a steal and it also has a mail in rebate for a drill bit i think??.. The Rockler red dot clearance price was $94.99 and there is a 50% off coupon on red dot items on the recent sales flyer. The Schaumburg, Illinois store had two of them left as of Saturday afternoon. Good luck!

That'll get you, at most, two friends.

The rest of us still hate you.
