Is this a good general purpose blade to put on the BT3100? It looks like a great price!

    Thanks
    Jack

Throughout my racing career I was constantly reminded of this: "Keep the pointy end forward and the shiny side up!"

Thinking about picking up one of these blades for my CMS. Should I hold out for a deal on a 80 tooth or would this blade be more than adequate for clean smooth cuts?

        Never met a bargain I didn't like.

The Freud LU82M010 has a full kerf (.126"), prob not recommended for the BT3100, where a think kerf blade runs a lot nicer.

Of note, this blade is advertised here for $25:

          http://www.saws-onlinestore.info/freudlu82m01010.html

But, when you click "buy it" you get Amazon popping up, and the $29 price...Also of note, the above link has a few reviews, one of which indicates the blade did not do well on a CMS.

In addition to it being full kerf, the LU82 also has TCG teeth which are very durable and great for things like laminate flooring, but it doesn't cut as cleanly as several of the other Freud blades I've tried that have ATB teeth. Both the LU86 and and LU88 are cleaner in my experience, and are more versatile for general purpose use.

Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

You will need the miter slot table accessory, or you will need to make a jig to rig it to your SMT.
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

This is just a person with an Amazon affiliate program where they get a % of sales from their site. The $25 price is false.

I think the 60T would be fine. If you can get a quality brand name 80T for a few bucks more then go for it. Otherwise I think a 60T would be fine, particularly on a 10" CMS, where the teeth would be closer together than on a 12".

I'm guessing that these items that increased in price were on "weekend sale" but I don't remember for sure. Anyone know?

can you elaborate or point me to a source that explains what the "miter slot table accessory" is? I of course have the SMT, but never heard of an accessory for it... what's in it?

As far as I know, the weekend sale stuff is still on sale...ie the PC 4212 jig and the Rousseau router lift and plate I bought are still on sale. The cabinet claws that were marked "weekend sale" have now been re-labeled "One Day Sale"
