I agree. Toolking has a reconditioned one for $109.99 plus $7.99 shipping. That's probably as low as you will see, other than the Amazon deal.

Great deals indeed, but there is an anomaly on the 12V Impact Driver. It has been available as a $210 special of two drills for some time. If you buy some glue and use the "Special Offer: April 11, 2006, through April 25, 2006, promotional code of TWNTYFVE2BEN" you get $25 off $199 of power tools, etc.

The promotion knocks the cost of the two drills down to $173.94 vs the $146.62 of the whiz bang deal on the impact driver alone. Kinda takes the edge off the super whiz bang deal on the impact driver alone.

While I'm not complaining about a quick and fairly comprehensive list of inventory reduction markdowns, it's not like this list is a special list of any sort, right? i.e., if I search for the Bosch table saw, I'll see the "current/new" model, and I'll see the old one being marked down, and the price of the latter is the same as is on this list.

Or am I missing something and is there something special about getting to items via this page vs getting to them via a search?

You mean like some kind of "member's only" backdoor or something? No.

On the Tools page they have a link to an Inventory Reduction sale that lists these deals all in one place.

                      Regards,
                      Tom

That's a good question. The amazon.com search function has always been goofy, so I'm not sure there's a simple answer to what you ask. If would not surprise me if some of these items did not display when you drilled down through the various levels of listings for a given manufacturer.

My observation is that this list contains a lot of items for which the price is nothing special ... if they're not the same as the normal price, they're awfully close.

But there ARE some great deals in here: the Bosch jig saw (naturally, the barrel-grip version I want is still full price), some of the miter saws, and the Bessey clamp kits (~$83 for the 2440 kit, ~$104 for the 2450, both excellent prices). It's worth a careful comb-through, for anyone who's shopping.

                            Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the heads up. I bought a mosquito magnet for $369 less than a month ago. Was on sale today for 314. called amazon and they are issuing a credit for $55. Nice!

Interesting thing is if I add one of the items in this list to my Wish List, it will show the higher typical Amazon price. When added to the Shopping cart it comes in at the sale price. Never seen that happen before!
