Well, I finally got my bandsaw today! I had to look at (or get friends/family to look at) 7 stores before I found one. A friend called last night and said that one was in stock in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. It was still marked at $199. I drove teh hour there today. Talked to a very nice tool manager (Steve) and he sold it to me for $120. There are 2 left in stock there. He actually asked how many I wanted. So, there are still a few out there if you look around.

He also gave me a bit of advice. Any tools with the yellow clearance tag that have an 'n' on them are negotiable. So, now you know what to look for. I'll post my receipt if anyone wants.

Lucky you! I pretty much called about 20 stores here in Illinois and none of them had any at all.

Has anyone seen these in WI? There is a new store in Manitowoc, but the manager couldn't find them on their inventory (or even avail from Hitachi).

I havent been able to get the good price in Indiana either. A local store that once had them now only stocks the Delta saws and I never saw them go on clearance. Generally speaking, my local Lowes does not price match stores in "other markets" .... sad is the world

According to the box, it weighs 145.5 lbs. Not quite sure how to even go about shipping something quite so heavy. Certainly it's too heavy for FedEx, UPS, or the post office. But, hey, Indiana to NJ and back, that's a day trip.

...On your way through Indiana (enroute to WI with the other saw), there is a certain piece of Borkholder furniture I've been looking for...

Hopefully today I can run to the nearest Lowes, an hour away, to see what they've got. New store so I'm not expecting much.

Tried that, even talked to manager. Not the most informed shall we say. I need to check out the store anyway. You never know what will pop up. My 5 year old son is home with me today and we both love tools. Every couple of weeks or so we make a pilgrimage to Woodworker's Depot in Green Bay just for fun.

because on the phone they usually only check the computer, not the actual shelves. According to the computer, they didn't have mine.
