    Hitaichi 12'' Bandsaw

In dealing with the $129 price match on the drill press, the sales associate Bill (Montgomeryville, PA) pointed out the band saws. He said he would like to drop the price on that too (a number in stock). It is listed for $199. He checked the computer.. and sure enough it was listed as 'non stock'. He said you want it for same price... I said sure! Having missed out on the Sears Zip Code saw, I wasn't about to let another possible deal pass me by. Not having done any research, I was a little worried. I would love to hear some comments on the saw and if I made a good purchase or not....

I did a little research since I got back, and it appears I could have saved another $9. I'm not sure if this site is from a BT3 member, but he got a little better price than me (pics w/ receipt and setup instructions): site

They also appear to have a dedicated forum that shows many others getting the $120 deal. forum

I'm still looking for one that isn't 100 miles away. Any chance you're heading to Hagerstown anytime soon?

      170 miles....hmmmm

I make it Harrisburg once/twice a year for one reason or another.. but nothing anytime soon. If the outdoor show was this weekend.. then it would have worked.

Was that for the floor model, or did they have more in stock?

My wife found one in Winchester, I'm trying to get the price down now.

Manager wants to see receipts, so LOML is buying the saw and I'll take the receipts in tomorrow to get my $75 back.

He said he had a number of them in stock (6-7?). He had to take a lift to get one down for me.

There was a floor model as well...

If you need mine, let me know. I don't have a way to scan.. but I could try to take a pic and upload tomorrow...

I would try the $120 in the link provided. Also have them check the 'non stock' indicator on the computer. When they saw that.. they were much more willing to drop the price.

I just found and purchased the Hitachi CB23F bandsaw for $129 also. They wouldn't accept the reciept posted here since it was too old - they stated it had to be within a few days. I had already arranged to buy the floor model though and I ended up finding one on the racks that they didn't know they had. I convinced the manager to sell me the new one (they didn't know it existed anyhow) for that price and he didn't even bat an eye. Floor model was still there for those in the Inland Empire.

You are harping about $9.00? Hey did you pay full price? I am not feeling your pain. You got a good deal, and you are complaining? Reality here is that you got a good deal so enjoy what you have. You could have paid full price.

Not harping.... just stating my observation. Sorry to offend.

So are you coming out to the WW show at the Farm Show Complex on 3-17 to 3-19? And did you get two band saws? Or did I misread it?
                        Thanks,
                        Pete

I was just in the Lowes in Montgomeryville PA Saturday morning and they just lowered the price on the Hitachi drill press and bandsaw to $129. Needless to say I'm the new owner of a drill press and a bandsaw. They had 3 or 4 bandsaws and at least the floor model of the drill press (maybe a few more). I had asked them to price match the bandsaw a month ago and they wouldn't budge on the price. I guess they finally got tired of them hanging around.

Nope just one. Put it together last night but wanted more height so mounted it to the end of one of my benches and I'll use the stand for something else.

Where is the Farm Show Complex? I keep meaning to get to one of the shows, but never seem to have th etime on the weekends they are in town.
