Zip Code saw - $500

I was going to order the Jet cabinet saw from Amazon for $1399 with the free dust collector, extended table, and mobile base until I saw the table saw clearance at Sears. I picked up a 22124 for $500.

I no longer need to add 220v wiring, and my wife is happier with the smaller saw in the garage. The Jet is still a bargain but it more than I need, and I already have a dust collector.

He must mean the 22104, which is on sale now for $499 when it usually costs $529. Simple enough to see the difference: the 22124 has a cabinet that goes all the way to the floor, while the 22104 has 4 legs, like a BT3100. So, Newbie, which do you REALLY have?

Its the full cabinet model, 22124. Original price is on the website is $950 after $50 off. However, the store salesperson told me that it is a clearance item ($499).

Wow, I just got one a couple of months ago. I thought I had a good price when Sears Essential had it for 30% off.

All of my Sears (Mall, Hardware, Essentials) have it for $949.99!!!

I think the clerk must have been smokin' crack because Sears is not clearancing that one, unless the store itself is choosing not to carry it. I can't imaging why. It's a great saw. That is the model with the Biesmeyer fence.

And you didn't buy two because??? At that price I would buy a second one, sell it for $750 (you would sell it in two days on Woodnet) and then your new saw would only cost you $250.

FWIW, I've mentioned before on BT3 that the Sears Essentials (previously Kmart) in Tustin CA has had the whole line (22104, 22114 and 22124) on clearance for a while. The last time I checked, the 22114 was $300 and the 22124 was $500. I think they're all gone now (maybe a floor model left) though.

If you have a Sears Essentials by you, it might be worth a check.

Dave - looked at the post you referenced and Sears Essentials had all three zip codes at 30% off = 22104 was $370, 22114 was $475, and 22124 was $699 ("just an FYI - I don't know if this is national or not, but there's a "Sears Essentials" (previously a Kmart) in Tustin CA that has the 22124 for $300 off (from $999 to $699)" - DaveW).

This $500 for the 22124 is unheard of.

(I think this may be a gloat - I doubt if any other Sears are offering the saw at this price.)

The saw was purchased from Sears Essentials in South Plainfield, NJ. Their telephone number is (908) 941-1500. The salesperson and loading dock worker told me than all the stores around the area are closing out the saw for a new line. I don't know if this is national.

Sears does dumb things sometimes. Just before christmas 94 I bought there top of the line table saw.Itwas just before they got the new zip code line in.. This saw was in the cat for $699. Guess .they wanted it out to make room for the new zip code saws.I paid $167for it and $30 for the HTC base. At the time I was waiting for the BT3 to go on sale, I could'nt pass it up..It kind of makes you wonder what they were thinking. Its a great saw.

I spoke with the tool manager at my local Sears (Vero Beach, FL) and he was not aware of Sears closing out #00922124000. He said individual stores may clear them out if they don't sell. He also, metioned some stores being converted to Sears Essentials that would possibly clearance the saws. So it must be a hit and miss type deal. However, if anyone else can find one I say go for it.....great saw, great fence, plus add a Sears service/warranty agreement and you are set.

Oh, heck ya he knows what he is talking about. I am leaving for NJ right now! They are on clearance for $499. Only one they had left was floor model and they are taking another 10% off for the floor model! I am on my way as they were so kind as to hold it for me!

Note : Definately check if you have an Essentials store near by!
