Trying to attach this to a Jet open stand Table saw. Questions:

The brackets that attach it to each leg fit and look better if I bend each tab a little so the center bolt hole surface of the bracket is level with the floor.
Should this mounting surface be level with the floor or should it angle upwards to help the two base assemblies fold upward????????

Do you leave the two mounting bolts for each of these brackets loose to help the base fold upwards?

    TIA

I think angling upward is ok. In practice, I don't think it really matters, because you only thread the lock nut onto the bolt that connects these legs to the frame a very small amount, so the legs have a lot of "play" in them by design...

        Thanks Tim,
Now I can see how sloppy the bolts are set up to be adn that is what allows the two base assemblies to hinge upward.

BTW for anyone that wants to know I was able to get the stand to fit a 24" x 20" wide stand without using the extra brackets they provide for the 17" wide Ridgid Bandsaw. This is one of the "grey" areas in the sizing between the stated 24" minimum and the 17" it is capable of for the bandsaw????? I just had to drill some through holes in some of the bars that slide within one another and cut some caster clearance into the rear legs of the stand itself.

            Used Sears Mobile Base

I know you guys are talking abou the heculift, but anyways I purchased the Sears moble base last week on sale and installed it to by my new BT3100 in minutes. I did have to drill a couple of holes in the brackets on the base 1/2" from last holes drilled but it fits my saw like a glove and now its very portable. The base only opens up to about 18 inches and the saw is actually about 18 3/4.

Not yet, but I will try to get some on here. I am so overdue figuring out the image posting thing.....It looks way too easy for this forum.
I'll try to take some and post them tomorrow morning

Any pics of this setup or maybe a link to Sears site for this item?

                    Hulp

I am a(n)HULP believer. I have three of them, but only one current installed - on my BT. I didn't remove the cross brace so I can have a shelf as a previous poster did. As for the difficulty of insatllation, I followed the directons for a measurement similar to the leg dimension off my BT3100-1 and had very little 'fiddling' to do to get it like I wanted it.

Just finished installing mine. About 3 hours altogether. Tips here helped alot. Another key point, the pdf instructions that are linked in this thread are slightly different, better, than the paper instructions that come with the unit.

I wish I could say it was easy, was not. Im sure it was improperly installed but it still only mostly works for me.

Will the Herc-U-Lift work on a rectangular stand? I'd like to add some mobility to my vintage RAS. The base is probably 24" x 30" or so. I know it's less than 300lbs since I can lift it.

I searched this thread and didn't see any link to PDF instructions.
Did I miss it or is it possibly in another Herculift thread?
                            Thanks

It will, at least on some rectangular ones. Check page 30 of the manual ( http://www.ridgidparts.com/pdf/AC99500.pdf ) and see if you can match your dimensions. If not, it likely won't fly.
