Hitachi Bandsaw CB13F @ Lowes

Help needed,

Has anyone recently in 2006 bought the Hitachi Bandsaw CB13F for the bargain price of $124? The Lowes in my area has it on clearance right now for $199, but I would like to get it for the $124 price. Before talking with a manager, I would like to have a recent copy of a receipt that shows this great deal. I’m still wondering if it’s better to call the national customer service line or just talk with the local managers.

Thanks
Garth

My general advice is to check your local stores for one that only has a few left (<~3). The managers generally seem more willing to cut deals if they only have a couple left; they basically would just like to get rid of them from their inventory. If you can find a store under that scenario, a receipt even from last year would probably work fine.
Don't be stupid, the universe is watching.

Is this one of the closeouts? I know they stopped selling some of the JET items last year, are they doing this now with Hitachi?

If so, I might need to go visit them.
Thanks,
Pete

This item is on clearance, but it's a non-stocked item meaning that they could reduce the price lower than $199. The zone-manager was called and asked if they could match the price of a receipt from Nov of last year that I got from this site. They didn't match the $124 but gave it to me for $128. I told them to load it up....

Thanks jwaterdawg, I followed your advise and got the last one in their inventory.

Thanks to all for the help. psal2 I hope you are able to do the same.

Happy sawing.

I picked one up last week at the Lowes in Langhorne, PA for $124.50. They couldn't have been nicer. I was in and out with the saw in my truck, in less thean 10 minutes. If you still need the reciept let me know and I'll look for it.

The first rule of working with machinery is "Don't put your fingers anywhere you wouldn't put your you know what."

A wise chief told me this, many years ago when I was assigned to the engine room of an aircraft carrier, and I credit this saying with saving my fingers on numerous occasions.

My local doesn't have this one or the 10" Delta in stock. Can't get a price match on what isn't there.
Thanks,
Pete

Anyone know the Lowes nearest to boston that would carry this? I can't find it online, and none of the stores I called knew anything. (Shocking, huh?)

What's Lowes stock number? I can call a friend to do a store search around me.
Thanks,

I was really using mine for the first time today. Man that blade is horrid. So, this is an 80" blade and everyone recommends Timberwolf right? Where is best price on Timberwolf?
Thanks

I am getting to know tool manager at Lowes all too well. This time all I had to do was mention the price was on the web at $124.50 and he let me have it.

I thought it was hard to get the drill press in the GEO Traker but the saw was even worse.
