The emphasis at PWD is DIY. Every cub scout is encouraged to learn the tools and do as much hands on as they can.

This place offers the wood body premachined and precut with cavities for the allowed lead weights to make it go faster..
The Cavity is CNC routed but the caption says its done raggedly (presumably by repeatedly plunge-cutting drilling holes with a drill) so that your friends at the PWD competition will think you did this at home rather than buying the $25 pre-routed CNC'd wood body.

    I quote:
    Stealth Sleeper Pinewood Derby Car

    $24.95

Introducing our expertly crafted Pinewood Derby car that is designed to look like a hobbyist made it, but with advanced features that set it apart from the rest. Our stealth sleeper car is a true showstopper, with weight pockets that are cleverly concealed with plunge cuts to hide the CNC work, giving it a genuine handcrafted feel.

Not sure it would have been legal when I was a Scout.

I love the creativity in making the Pinewood Derby look amateurish while still incorporating cutting-edge technology! Thanks you!
