but they're 5 bucks each and the idea is that they're cleanable and when cleaned, as good as new, it should be the last brush i ever buy!

Until you drop one wet with glue on the floor with sawdust or shavings.

I have three of the original ones, two of the dowel size, the comb size and the tray. If you're a good boy and do all your gluing for the day at once, then one would do it.

I do find that the bristles will break, so no - it won't be the last one you ever buy.

Check out the Betty Crocker kitchen utensils at a Dollar Tree store.

I have several of the silicone pastry brushes and they work great. And they're only a dollar!

Yeah, I've found that if I'm gluing all day long, old glue dries in the brush and I'm picking dried glue out of my joints. So that's why I have a hand full.

I recall you posting about it at a dollar store, but didn't recall which store. Apparently they always have these? I always kinda thought dollar stores had surplus or overstock stuff that varied by the day. There's one Dollar Tree store real nearby.

I note woodcraft has these for $1.99

but they are so inconvenient I never go there, order online for delivery if I need something but $2 items don't work well that way.

Not quite $2 each, but close with Prime.

Dollar Tree carries the Betty Crocker line at all the stores I've visited.

I just returned from a trip to Florida and found the inventories in Naples and Ft. Myers to be identical to the stores in Minneapolis. (I'm addicted to the chocolate-striped shortbread cookies.)

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I have been using the same acid brush for 10 years of glue ups. I just wash it out with warm water and it is as good as new. It only cost a few cents.

                      Regards Bob

picked up a couple of Betty Crocker Glue brushes (BCGB) from Dollar Tree for (gasp) a buck ea., promptly cut off half the brush as it seemed long and floppy. Will try sometime soon. They had a bunch of them.

I stopped using brushes years ago, now I use either Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors. Cheap as all get out at either Michael's or AC Moore.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and don't try the basting brush.

So, depending on what tool you decide to use, you need to either:

                            A. Check your kids tonsils before you start gluing
                            B. Baste the turkey before you start gluing
                            C. Eat a popsicle before gluing

                            2 out of 3 ain't bad!!
