    Bandsaw Rescue mission..

Last week I went to visit another local wood worker to pick up a big box of pen blanks he offered me at a bargain price.. While I was there He mentions that he has a bandsaw for sale too.. Being the tool hound that I am I had to check it out.
He shows me this poor neglected Ridgid 14" saw sitting all alone in the garage far from it's friends in the wood shop.. How could I leave it there cold and alone like that.. I was more than happy to spend $200 to rescue this sad little saw and bring it home to get the attention it deserves.

Look at this poor lonely saw.. You can hardly tell it's been used before.

Nice score. With the grey paint job, check the manufacture date--you may have lifetime service agreement that travels with the tool. There Ridgid forum where you can verify that pretty quickly. I don't recall the cut-off date off the top of my head. If the LSA is active, my understanding is that you don't even need a receipt.

I've got the orange version, decent saw. Congratulations!!

Just looking at the pictures I am getting bad vibes. That saw is possessed! It is possible some that some of the components are made from melted down part of Christine.

DO NOT install a blade on that monster! It will attack if you give it teeth....

For your safety, pack it in a STRONG crate and ship it to me. I will perform an exorcism or, if the demons cannot be driven from the machine, ensure its complete destruction.

I love this saw! I got a 1/2" bosh blade from Lowes (best I can get in town on a Sunday) and only $9

It runs through pine like nothing.. even 4" wide..

Then I tried a max depth cut with 6" wide Cherry.. No problem!

Hmm maybe a riser block is a good idea..

I need to make a resaw fence for sure.

Oh my gosh... you must have spent untold minutes getting that old thing working!
                Nice.
