The catch here is "consecutive" days.

Congratulations! On a personal note, I woke up to pain in my joints this morning. At my age this is a good thing. The day I wake up and don't hurt somewhere, I figure I died in my sleep...

I remember as a kid getting informed about automotive engines, and learning about RPM's. I imagined those pistons going up and down at different RPM's up to 5K-6K, and thought holy krap...that's a lot of consistent use. Now, F1 engines go to 18K RPM's...incredible.

So, that brings me to this realization. That figuring out the ongoing record I've kept up, works out to...

            24, 820 days.
            595, 680 hours
35,740, 800 minutes. This figure is in the millions.
Figuring heartbeat @ 80 beats per minute...to date...2,859,264,000 and counting. I sense a rebuild soon.

I check the paper every morning and if my name isn't in there I am good to go.

Had a cantankerous employee who when I greeted him every morning and asked him how he was doing would answer "Well I am Vertical" and my response was at our age it beats the alternative Joe, and he would just grumble.

Today it will be 109 or so, My liberal sister in law informs me that it is because of Global Warming and I explain to her that this is just a central California heat wave and I can prove it, which I do by naming events in my life where the temps have been over hundred going back to at least 1942 and the stories form my older relatives about summer here in Sacramento in the 20's and 30's. At least now most of us have AC in our homes places of employment and cars. I love jerking her chain, not even a challenge.

My students think I'm old (soon to be 56; when you're 15 that's like being taught by Methuselah) and every so often ask me when I'm retiring. I tell them when I'm unable to get up and make it to school under my own power.

A lot of those young 'uns can't do that!
