    Range Time

Our weather is warming up to the point where it is going to be comfortable shooting temps. I put a new Weaver 4-16 x 42 scope on my CZ 452 Varmint 22LR this winter and am anxious to try it out.

Looks like a nice setup. I bet you're excited. I haven't done much shooting in a while.

I hadn't done any shooting in over 25 years until last summer when I got the bug again and I am having a ton of fun.
Here is a 50 yard target from my first time out with a Leupold 2-7 scope. With my old eyes it was hard to hold on the bull with 7x so I think the new scope will help.

I really enjoy shooting 22LR with my daughter --- but with the price and availability of 22LR ammo - we haven't done it, this year - and am not sure we will do it.

My favorite all-round rifle is a CZ with a set trigger --- they're very hard to beat. Put a Leupold scope on them - they're fantastic.

I like those glowshot targets. I use them with my air guns.

Nice groups Dick. Are those with the new scope? CCI std velocity is usually great stuff.

That was with the old scope, I haven't shot with the new one yet. The ammo was CCI std velocity.

                I have a Marlin 60 with a 4x scope. I actually prefer the sights instead...more sporting.

Does your scope have an adjustable objective? The magnification will help but being able to zero out parallax may also. Nice shooting with the 2-7X.

Love that bench rest that the rifle is sitting on. Nice looking rifle, though.

                    Regards, Steve.

                      shooting

I shoot several times a week. My S&W model 41 will only eat CCI, which is very difficult to get now. I am in a group (Senior Militia), retired military and/or law officers and there is a variety of weapons that makes it interesting.

If anyone is in the Vegas/Henderson area and wants to join our group (no fees) give me a nudge. You do not need to have been a member of any specific group.

                        Shooting

Nice set up, you're lucky to have a shooting range. We don't have a range on the Big Island Hawaii. We have to go to the hunting area and set up our own targets. So we have to keep our hunting license and red vest on us at all times. If you're shooting a handgun you need to have a dog with you because hunting with handguns are not allowed unless you have a dog present. Even though the game warden knows you're just shooting targets w/handgun they can site you for not having a dog present cause technically you're in the hunting grounds. What a PITA it becomes just to site in your pistol.

I've had several opportunities to join groups and decided against it. I don't have specific knowledge of that group or their ideals, but they are closely monitored by law enforcement, and the military.

Civilian militias and para military groups have been in question since I can remember.

                            Senior Militia

Senior Militia is just a name, we have no social issues, no agenda, other than to obey range rules, and we can be monitored 'til the cows come home, no one will find anything.
