    Man I hate fire season.....

Fire Season is upon the rockies.

Right now, we have big fires in New Mexico and Colorado.

Nothing near us at the moment - but our level of humidity is DANGEROUSLY low.

It will only take a spark to get a big fire going down here - and it's scaring the bejeebers out of me.

Hang in there. If I could, i'd ship you a little of the thunderstorm we've got heading in. Humidity must have been close to 80% here this afternoon and the clouds are so thick that the radar shows rain for the past 45 minutes without a drop falling.

Thunderstorms are part of the problem in fire country, often there is not enough rain to put out a lightning caused wildfire.

Meanwhile in Minnesota the field in front of our house is still empty. It's been too wet for the farmer that rents it to get into it yet.

We have a problem in the Everglades with fires. It's not all swamp. During the summer we can have fires due to lightning, or careless campers or smokers.

A lot of farmers up here have given up on any thoughts they may have had about a corn crop this year. It's been too wet to plant.
