    Amazon Rocks!

    After charging my 3 year old Kindle suddenly showed an error screen telling me to contact customer service. Before doing that a did a hard reset 3 times, no effect, same error. I called Amazon and with them on the phone did a hard reset one more time, no success.

    Despite the Kindle being out of warranty for 2 years they are sending me a brand new one free, and shipping it next day air since I leave for vacation in 3 days! Plus sending a box to return the old one!

    WOW! A free new replacement, next day air at no charge, for an out of warranty Kindle! Amazing customer service!

    That is why I have been a dedicated Amazon customer and Prime member for years.

    3 cheers for Amazon!!!!

      That's beyond the call of duty. They knew you would make a post here and rave about them. We have had nothing but great service from Amazon.

          Apple will do something similar and it's because you are worth more to them as a customer who buys content from them

              i think that's the reason why they are so generous with the Kindle. But still their customer service on other stuff is not bad.

                      I love love love love love Amazon. I've never liked iTunes, but the Amazon MP3 service on my phone is great. I don't buy a lot of albums just on MP3, but there are times where you can get 99 classical songs for $2 or a greatest hits album for $3 or $4. So then I'll make a digital purchase. But not only that- if you buy a physical CD from them, they make it available via MP3 on their cloud player/ mobile program. So I bought a CD from them, and while I get it quickly enough (2 days as a Prime member), I can listen to it immediately online or downloaded to my phone.

                      Not to mention you can find used media extremely cheap there.

                      Not to mention free streaming movies on their website (though they really need to make the Prime service easier to navigate online).

                      Not to mention they have everything...

                          I started buying paperbacks from Amazon when they first went online 1995 because it saved me $$$. When they first started Prime I joined. Since '95 I have placed over 2,300 orders for them. If I find it lower cost from them, or even at the same cost as local to avoid shopping (hate it), and free shipping for Prime, great!

                          Add in free Prime videos, very low cost MP3 (tired of buying a CD for 1 or 2 songs and not liking the rest), and all the rest and I will be a member for life.

                          AND I love my Kindle! Lots better to take in when I travel then to pack 5 books.
                          We all have to go sometime, just not yet!

                              LOML gets a lot of the audio books. I told her I would read her bedtime stories.
