Looks like a doohickey. Or a thingamabob. Or the control unit for a framistat-regulated governator.

Not so mythical. I have had a round tuit. Just never found a place where I could cash it in.

I thought it was the 110 adaptor for an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics etching tool. Did you have any ancient Egyptians living in you neighbourhood?

No, but we did have a very old Cuban living next door, but she died a few years ago.

Its one of those things that women plug into the wall that makes the room smell like gardenias to cover up the smell of our feet and the other things that we are accused of doing in the house that smells bad.

Those little 'owl eyes' in the last photo almost look like they're LED's or some kind of light lens... could this be something as simple as a stylized night light?

Or maybe just a two-prong outlet tester?

Or, could it be a US / European appliance adapter?

You might be right. I haven't ruled out a plug in voltage cap. That's those

modules that keep electricity from escaping out from an empty electrical outlet.

IF you posted a picture on facebook, and if you have many many friends, (or your wife does) I bet you would find the answer quick - if it is an atomizer.
