Anyone ever use this stuff

That looks nice to me. I know that LOML won't like it because it is not sheet rock. I need to re-sheetrock our LR and DR with 1/4 in sheetrock and this looks better to me!

1/4" sheetrock? Lean on that wall wrong and you'll go right through. Maybe OK for the ceiling...

It's not sheetrock. It's not that fragile. It's an alternative to a plywood beadboard.

I haven't used it, but seen similar stuff. I think typical use would be for wainscoting. It is certainly cheap enough to get a good look for little money.

I think 1/4" sheetrock would typically be used to reskin a wall rather than trying to refinish a damaged surface.

1/4 in sheetrock is for covering already in place sheetrock that has been painted numerous times, patches for different reasons. Saves lots of tearing out of old sheetrock. Used quite often in some re-modeling.

Well I bit and ordered 5 sheets unseen,hope they really are 5 1/2 x 8 and will cut down to use in the dining area and bathroom wall away from water and moisture to clean up the look in both. Figured its 5 1/2 ft means you can cut it in half and still have reasonable wall height once put upon a 4 inch baseboard and I have some molding I can modify to use for the top from another purchase. This being MDF I'll just have them cut it in half there with a panel saw and save all that dust flyin around

Reading the descrpition and specifications it is a bit conflicting to the 5 1/2' x 8' wall panel in the header. Descrition shows 14 sq ft per carton and the specs list it as 8' long and .4558' (5.469") wide. The installation guide is for a plank type material.

Not really as I'm only going to 34-36 in. in height which means I'll get 3 cuts per strip at 5 1/2 inches wide. A full size 4 x 8 ft sheet is $21 at the store to get that height I'll need to buy a lot more cost wise and have more scrap left over. Pappy was right tho it is as he described and not whats shown on the website(factually they have no sheet goods wider than4 ft),so even at this price its gonna be cheaper than buying sheet goods for me with less waste material at my determined height

So at this price I ordered 20 more as they had sold out but found some at 2 other stores, my manager and I saw eye to eye on the confusion on the description and he knocked the price in half again for the newly ordered stuff bringin it down to $1.60 a piece so I can finish the remainder of the short wall I'll be doing in the dining room and bath, looks better than the plywood panel IMO and hopefully goes up easy with the glue and nails. Either way they jacked the price back up, fotunately I got in on the deal before they shut it down

I generally don't like "MDF" anything. But, I'd have to see this, as the price sure beats other alternatives for wainscote. ("Bead-board" ply panels are more than twice that price around here.)

The last picture showing the young lady installing it, opens some ideas for solution to a troubled wall I have at the top of my stair case.
