I really liked the idea and symbolism of this type of clock. I am sure we all lose track of the year! http://astounde.com/the-present-annu...me-in-seasons/

That's a pretty cool timepiece for $300. I'm still hung up on a sundial.I really liked the idea and symbolism of this type of clock. I am sure we all lose track of the year! http://astounde.com/the-present-annu...me-in-seasons/
I'm just concerned if I have that clock, I could be a whole season late to work.

LOL , season late, many dollars short! I like it, but also would find it a bit stressful... At the same time though, it presents time in a cool manageable, long term method. It's refreshingly inspirational! :-)I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

This idea was presented in Tracy Kidder's docu-novel "Soul of a New Machine" about the development of a minicomputer back in the 70's. One of the engineers was involved in debugging part of the circuit where there was a race - a circuit conflict where the outcome depended on which of two signals arrived first and the intention was that one should arrive fractions of a nanosecond before the other but due to stray capacitance, drive levels and signal path differences it wasn't always happening. Of course there was pressure of the SCHEDULE, too. One day he got frustrated and left his cubicle and a note on the screen saying "I am going to (join) a commune in Vermont and will deal with no unit of time shorter than a season".

Different for sure. If the batteries drain, you may not notice the season change because it's so slow of a movement. You might get confused with the colors.

I'm retired. I don't need no stinkin' clock!
In my old age I look back and realize how lucky I was to live in a time when common sense was common.
