    Curious

I started a thread in Finished Projects 2 days ago. Today I log back in to check for comments and my thread is gone.

I read where it says the forum is sometimes purged but there are threads in there now that are older than mine.

    What's up?

    Thanks,
    Rand

Rand, we have been having 100's of spams posted per day and the mods have been busy deleting them as fast as they come in. One of the other mods did it and I can see how easy it is to miss one legit post in the middle of 100 spams selling shoes, watches, and whatnot. He must have accidentally tagged your post in a flurry of deletions. I have undeleted it. Many apologies and its a nice piece of work.

    Thanks for pointing this out.

It probably was me, and if it was I apologize. I deleted 121 at one time two days ago and I know that Loring deleted at least 100. Add to that, Lee (Stytooner) deleted almost as many or more.

I tried to be careful and make sure that valid posts were not deleted but Old ages comes with lessening eye sight.

      Apologies!

        Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm sorry you guys are getting spammed to death. Maybe add some captcha requirement for new users logging in?

+1 Very good idea, should aid the moderators with nearly no inconvenience to newbies! Are you relinking your photos?

My hat's off to the moderators of this forum and the others that I frequent. I'm sure that reading and evaluating every post to find spammers and to delete the posts must take all the fun out of this great site for you. To bad we can't just connect to spammers via Vulcan Mind Meld and blow up their computers!!

Thanks for keeping the site enjoyable for the rest of us.

here's a day in the life...
you don't actually have to read most of these to tell the spam, but you can see how easy it is to just click down the line and accidentally click a real post.
