    Hook and Loop but not

I saw this reuseable fastening system some years ago - even had a small piece of it. Both sides of this appliance are the same. They are both made of plastic and are identical. The way that it works is that the catches are all flexible stems with a larger cap on the top that looks like a screw-cover button. When pushed together the stem/buttons moved about to allow the opposing ones to pass but then locked the opposing button on the flats of the button. OK, the more I try to explain this the deeper I get. I don't know what to call it to do a search so I'm counting on your brain power and the various professions you hold or have held. Pipe up and pipe in, folks. I'll be greatful.

a picture is worth 1024 words.

this one is designed to be screwed down, but it also comes in squares, long cuttable tapes, stick on buttons, etc. Unlike Velcro hook and loop fasteners, the two pieces are the same. e.g. it can stick to itself if you can bend it over.

Just curious. What do you want to do with it?
