    This site has inspired..

Not sure if this is the forum for posting but I was browsing the Craigslist yesterday and picked this up for $50 (owner moving to Florida). Now I can practice different maintenance activities to be more proficient on this saw. The cranking wheel is binding (but the saw does go up) so that is the first thing I will be maintaining

It is a 1994 model but everything works. Just lucky I guess.

I bet in a few years you'll have it so "decked out", it will look very different. I placed mine in a cabinet that is 6 ft. long with plenty of storage and added full rails for ripping wide pieces. Along with the wheels underneath, I can roll it where ever I need it.
Happy cutting. You got a bargain.

First thing to do about that is clean out the dust from the underside of the saw and lube up the gears. I like to use the spray lube that was sent out a couple of years ago to us for free upon request. I forget the name of it, it was a green spray can, goes on greyish dries blackish, has graphite and molybdenum in it. I sprayed mine last year and its still working like butta :-)
I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

first thing check the shims (actually should be done before buying the saw) sounds like they need lubing or replacing. Slightly different than a BT3100.
