    One became the other

    When old Mr. Heinz went to China, he discovered Catsup. A common sauce based on sugar and tomatoes. He brought it home and named it Ketchup

      I believe you will find that both mustard and catsup/ketchup is heavy compared to mayonnaise. Mayo is also whipped to increase volume or make it lighter or something and if sold by weight the the number would not be as impressive as when sold by volume as we all know we go by big numbers even when it means less. It's sort of why fishermen use the length of the fish and not the weight until it's a really big fish, and wood is sold in nominal sizes.

        I am glad they have a brand with no high fructose corn syrup in these days. that stuff is the worst thing in the world for you.
