    Unexpected expense

Like I mentioned in my resurrected discussion about my shop, I have had a couple of unexpected expenses hit me this month. Repaying for excess vacation time was a bad one, but here's a pic of a good one. Seeing the kids' reaction to this one makes putting off a new shop not so bad.

Both of my kids are special needs (one has Tourettes and a lot of the bad stuff that goes with it, and the other is on the Autistic spectrum), and I had been e-mailing back and forth with Stacey and his group for a while. About a month ago, we got an invite to go up and see him at his studio during the weekend. Like I said, unexpected expense, but we scrounged up a few bucks and made a heckuva weekend out of it.

We met his entire family and had the best time...could've stayed there for hours, but his A/C had gone out the day before, and it was HOT!!!! Very nice down to earth guy with a wonderful family and a big heart. He doesn't allow visitors very often for good reason, but I'm forever thankful he made the exception for my boys.

        Yep, the one and only!

It was great meeting and talking with him. He gave me a lot of details on things that he can't talk about on the show that answered some questions about some of the projects. One thing he did tell me about that I think I could pass along is the history of Sgt. Rock. Comes to find out, that truck IS the truck that used to clear the runway near his house during the winters when he was a kid. He didn't know it when he bought it, because the truck was covered in snow. When they pulled it out, the truck still had the old snow plow attached. He said it was like being 6 years old again.

maybe i don't run the same circles as you. Who is Stacey - some kind of monster truck builder with a TV show?

Oh, I get it it's this show:

TB, it's amazing, but right now he has more in the Roaster than the SLC!

I can't believe, I finally stumped Loring on something!
