    You would have thought

With all the 100+ temps last week and the lack of rain in my area there would be a slow down, nope just a ripening effect, todays harvest,

I picked this from my garden this afternoon.

She finally defeated the chicken wire fence. How? I don't know, but I had to help her get out.

Our Malamute dropped a cherry tomato earlier today and it fell between the deck boards. He was not a happy camper! Got it out for him, he made sure it wouldn't get away from him again!

Our tomatoes are doing fantastic this year. I dont see any disease or blossom end rot like in past years. Your corn looks really good. Probably my next fav summertime veg after tomatoes

Thats white sweet corn 2 rows of about 15 plants with about 20 ears still left, great soaked in water left in the husk and cooked on the grill. We have had to be extremely experimental cookin this yr (lots of grilled veggies) as she doesn't (won't) can or put up the veggies and I basically still have been runnin 4-6 bags to the homeless shelter 1-2 times a week.I love to go out early in the morning and pick, while doing so a lot of cherry maters get eaten in the process, beans and squash are about done and I'm fixin to retill (remember the tiller for pistol trade) those areas for some cool season crops. I was gonna put in a larger garden next yr. maybe twice this size, but now rethinking that as we can't seem to give away(kids, friends and neighbors, shelter) all of it. Its been experimental this 1st. yr. Don't think I'll do the eggplant next yr,maybe more beans as I bought a small freezer and after blanching the green beans we have about 15 gallon size bags already frozen along with zukes and yaller squash. Might try taters as I'm Irish/Russian, make me up some wodka and sour mash with the corn, some extra rows of corn next yr will be nice. Still have summer watermelon yet to ripen and the second row of maters is bloomin along with the Okra. This is a totally organic garden btw,no chemical sprays for bugs and just cow manure and lime was added in earlier about 3 months before the initial plowing allowing it too decompose and a fish emulsion fertilizer was added later in May. I also think this was pasture land before they built our subdivision, that helps. Its fun and great exercise to get out weedin and picken in the early hours before the heat sets in, Well gotta get outta here,Gone Fishin signs gonna be on the front door in about an hour

LOML and I have a tree service coming out here as soon as things dry up a little bit. Our goal is to get the drought kill out of the yard, stump ground, and gone. These things have boring beetles in them so I am not going to try to salvage any of the wood... Then out comes the deck, and once that mess is cleaned up, the ground turned, I am going to go to the soil yard for a couple of yards of garden soil ($30.00 cu/yd delivered, or $25.00 u-haul). Get the raised garden bed done and levelled, and I should be ready for fall planting (advantage to living in Texas, I can grow year round...) The spot I had the garden in previously stayed in the afternoon sun too long and stuff burned, ALL the time...

FWIW, the crops you guys are pulling there look great! Makes me want to start up the BBQ and have ya throw the corn on!
