Thanks...same to you. I don't waste my money on that junk. One of the many municipalities will likely put on a display which I can usually see from home.
I was going to finish cleaning up out behind the fence this morning and burn off some of the cut brush and then spend the late afternoon/evening with the family. My plans changed last night when I checked the Austin PGR site. I discussed the change of plans with my wife and she agreed this was more important.
LtCol Roy Tisdale is being flown to Austin today and transported to College Station for burial in the Texas A&M Memorial Garden. The Austin chapter of the PGR will meet the plane and ride escort to Dime Box where we ill meet with the East Texas chapter. They will escort LtCol Tisdale the rest of the way to College Station.
LtCol Tisdale is the officer shot last Thursday at Ft Bragg. God willing, I will have other Independence Days to celebrate with my friends and loved ones, this fallen soldier will not.

Don.
What an unpleasant way to "celebrate" out country's birthday. May the LtCol. rest well.

Not at all, Bruce. The reason I joined the Patriot Guard Riders is that it is an honor to stand for, or provide escort to, our fallen service men and women. It doesn't matter if the death was a KIA, a sensless killing like this, or an older veteran from past wars.

I agree, it is an honor to escort. It's a shame that protestors show up at services and cemeteries.
