A lot of my students work in local restaurants, and often they'll get me moved to the head of the line if it's crowded. It doesn't hurt that I tip well.

I'll often receive small tokens for projects that were done well (sporting tix, gift cards, etc.), but the largest thank-you was a week-long trip to Disneyland for two. That was in thanks for delaying some surgery to ensure a new instrument we were developing was able to be released on time.
