    40 Ounces Of Water

I'm scheduled for an ultrasound of my bladder tomorrow and am required to drink 40 ounces of water between 30 and 45 minutes before the test.

The doctors office is about a 30 minute drive.
Waiting room time could be 10 minutes or an hour plus.

So, when to start drinking and worrying about using a rubber band.
What would be the best consumption timing for the prep?

Wow, I would call the office ahead and check to see how they are running time wise. Let them know what test you are scheduled for and that timing is critical. Tell them you are not accustomed to holding your water and that you are not responsible for staining their flooring :-)

Seriously though, in our area we have specialists that are so booked, its routine for patients to call ahead to see "where" they are on their schedule.

Best of luck C-Man, hope all turns out well.

I can sympathize with you, I would have the same worry. I have a suggestion, why don't you go to the doctors office ahead of time and drink the water there. It could put some pressure on them to keep to their schedule.
All the best and I hope it will all turn out alright.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Both are great. I'll likely do both. I'm wondering if room temperature or cold water would be easier/better.

I would go with room temp. That's a lot of water to put into your body at once. Consider that it might give you runs or cramps if you drink that much and its cold!

Don't read any jokes on BT3Central.
If you drink cold water you can burn a lot of calories warming it up to body temperature... like a diet.

Drinking it at the doctors office would be a good plan.

Ought to bring the water it in a 40oz beer bottle in a paper bag and then guzzle it down in the waiting room.

You might wear a pair of Depends just in case. Or you could take a spring clamp with you.
                  Seriously, good luck !
