I normally only used brushes for deep mortises, and sometimes larger dowel holes. This Rockler product only looks like it would work for flat surfaces, like panel glue-ups. It looks too big to fit into a 3/8" mortise?Comment

I did a review on my site (which I'll have up in a few minutes with pictures) and commented that they needed some smaller sizes. For that, you're going to stick to your tried and true method.
With the taper of the bristles, it's too wide to use (naturally) in a 3/4" dado. But I love just setting it down somewhere and coming back the next day and picking out the one or two pieces of dried glue and going back at it.Comment

picked up one of these a couple weeks ago...it is pretty good for version 1.0. the best parts: easily cleanable after the glue has dried, no bristles in the joint, and you don't have to buy new one after you're done. like others have said, a smaller version would be nice...for larger glueups, I use a silicone basting brush from the dollar store.
dave -- you're right about the finger being the best applicator. my problem is, i usually wipe the applicator off on my shirt without giving it a second thought...which is not a good thing when you pop in the shop after work for a quick glueup :OComment
